Block Context
Scope a conversation to one block — the assistant discusses and edits only that block.
By default a conversation sees the whole page. You can attach a single block as the conversation's context, and the assistant then discusses and edits only that block; the rest of the page becomes read-only context.
Attaching a block
There are two ways:
- From the canvas. Select a block — two buttons appear at its bottom-right corner:
- the assistant icon starts a new conversation scoped to that block;
- the target icon attaches the block to your current conversation.
- From the panel. Press the target button at the bottom-left of the input row, then click a block on the page.
The attached block is shown as a small chip directly above the input. Remove it with the × on the chip — the conversation returns to whole-page scope.
How scoped conversations behave
- The assistant receives the block's type, label, and full props, and is instructed to touch only that block.
- Edits targeting other blocks are rejected in code, not just by instruction.
- If the block is deleted later, the conversation degrades to whole-page scope and shows a "block removed" notice; the history stays readable.
